UC ROBO
UC ROBO is a student-led robotics club founded in 2025. Our goals are to facilitate learning, collaboration and innovation in robotics and to provide social and networking opportunities for Engineering students. We aim to build our club to have a lasting impact long after we have graduated.
We aim to create spaces for our engineering students to socialise and network with other students from both UC and surrounding universities, as well as industry professionals.
Student led classes that expand on topics covered in your courses, facillitating extra lab time and study groups to enhance your learning experience.
Support with external competition entries, including mentorship and resources, as well as organising and conducting university/student led competitions.
We held our first information session for BattleBots ACT, 2026. In collaboration with ANU RRC, we plan to host a BattleBots comp at UC in Semester 1 of 2026. We gathered at ANU to discuss the rules of the event and timeline. We had a visit from Cameron, from ACT Combat Robotics, who spoke about the regulations and gave everyone a demo.
View Gallery →In collaboration with Engineers Australia, we held a Trivia Night at the UC Bar, where we battled it out with rounds of questions about science, technology and sci-fi. We also had a competition for best group name, which was won by the group "Bill Longer". Our MC for the night was our very own VP, Tiff. We encouraged the attendees to take selfies with the camera we passed around and we were quite pleased with the results!
View Gallery →We were given the opportunity to help represent the University of Canberra, the main sponsor of RoboCup Jr Nationals 2025. Many of our members volunteered as judges and helped out at the UC booth, talking to students and parents about the univerities exciting new Intelligent Robotics major for their engineering honours degree.
View Gallery →Hosted at UC, we had a pizza night with the members of ANU RRC, where their president, Michael proposed a collaborative BattleBots comp.
We officially became a club! Our Innaugral General Meeting held on, marked the start of a new journey for the Engineering students of UC. We voted in our comittee members, chatted with faculty and had a tour of the robotics labs, then ate a lot of pizza!
